Townsend's Solitaire - the weather was right, the light was good, seemed to be the right time of year, but for some reason was really quiet out. A few warblers were singing and a few Pacific Slope Flycatchers but much quieter then I was expecting. A few shots of a House Wren were all I could muster up through the afternoon. I was hiking back down the mountain as the sun was getting low. I ended up on the wrong trail down but it turned out to be right as I happened upon this Townsend's Solitaire. This was a bird I had hoped to encounter today with them typically being found on a lot of our mountain sides as they migrate through. A member of the thrush family they are related to the American Robin. Species 138 for the year
