Black-headed Grosbeak- Pheucticus melanocephalus
The male Black-headed Grosbeak is a striking bird in its
black and orange plumage. These solitary birds are more
often heard then seen as they call out from the forest
canopy, while they forage for insects, seeds and berries.
An occassional visitor to backyard bird feeders, their
overall large size and large bill makes them stand out
against the usual feeder birds
