The male Red-winged Blackbird is all black,
with yellow and red wing patches, while the
female is a mottled brown. Insects and seeds
make up the bulk of their diets. A common
sight in wetlands across North America. The
males can often be seen singing atop a
bulrush, as they call out for a mate and
keep a watchful eye over their territory.
